Safe Agro MENA ,Nile University Hosts Project Launch and Pilot in Fayoum

As part of the Safe Agro MENA initiative, IECC showcased practical, community-centered solutions for sustainable agriculture and water resilience.

Over a two-day program, Nile University highlighted the project’s vision, milestones, and tangible impact. Day One at Nile University presented the project roadmap and scalable innovation approaches to agricultural wastewater reuse and food security. Day Two moved to Fayoum for the pilot launch of an on-farm decentralized wastewater treatment system built with locally sourced materials. The pilot—timed to World Wetlands Day—demonstrates how constructed wetlands can enable sustainable water reuse, enhance food security, and support smallholder farmers. The initiative represents a practical step toward scalable, resilient water reuse practices in Egypt and underscores collaboration between national and international partners, supported by IHE Delft’s Water and Development Partnership and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
