Nile University’s Professor Among L’Oréal–UNESCO For Women in Science Young Talents 2024
We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Sahar Selim has been honored as one of the three Egyptian awardees of the L’Oréal–UNESCO For Women in Science – Young Talents Program 2024. This prestigious initiative, which has empowered over 4,700 women researchers from 140 countries, recognizes exceptional women scientists whose work significantly impacts society.
Dr. Selim's groundbreaking research focuses on using AI-based early detection of ovarian cancer through ultrasound imaging, aimed at improving health outcomes for women, particularly in underserved communities. Her work is part of the ongoing initiatives conducted by the Medical Imaging & Image Processing Research Group at the Center for Informatics Science (CIS) here at Nile University.
