Nile University is proud to announce that four of its academics recently participated in academic seminars in the People’s Republic of China. Through the proactive coordination of the Office of International Affairs (OIA), three faculty members took part in a comprehensive three-week executive program supported under the Egypt–China Year of Education, delivered in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR).

Executive Program on Industrial Zone Management and Smart Park Governance

The delegation received fully funded placements for three outstanding academic leaders:

  • Dr. Mahmoud Shaaban

  • Dr. Mohamed Afifi

The program focused on Industrial Zone Management and Smart Park Governance, taking participants through leading innovation and industrial hubs in Changsha and Shenzhen, offering an up-close view of practical models that support global industrial transformation.

Key Topics and Innovations Explored

Throughout the three-week experience, the delegation engaged with high-impact themes, including:

  • Smart Park architecture and digital twins, including real-world applications of 5G, IoT, and digital twin technologies, aimed at optimizing complex facilities and supporting emissions reduction.

  • Next-generation governance models, analyzing efficient approaches such as the “Management Committee + Operating Company” structure that separates policy oversight from market execution.

  • Shenzhen and Changsha ecosystems, supported by immersive site visits across major technology and cooperation centers, including the Qianhai Cooperation Zone and Huaqiangbei.

  • Advanced project financing mechanisms, including modern investment tools and approaches that support sustainable development.

Strengthening NU’s Global Academic Presence

“This initiative reflects Nile University’s commitment to international engagement and knowledge exchange,” said the Office of International Affairs (OIA). “We don’t just secure opportunities, we ensure they translate into real, lasting value for our academic community.”

Nile University extends its sincere appreciation to MoHESR, our Chinese hosts, and the participating faculty members for representing NU with professionalism and excellence. OIA remains dedicated to creating, capturing, and leading high-impact international opportunities that further strengthen Nile University’s global reach and impact.

This is only the beginning; more international achievements are on the way.
