Public Talks by Prof. Guanrong Chen and Prof. Han-Xiong Li from the City University of Hong Kong

Nile University is thrilled to welcome Prof. Guanrong Chen and PrProf. Guanrong Chenof. Han-Xiong Li from the Department of Engineering at the City University of Hong Kong. The distinguished scholars will give two public talks on campus:

  • "Optimal Synchronization of Complex Dynamical Networks" by Prof. Guanrong Chen
  • "Control for Intelligent Manufacturing: A Multiscale Challenge" by Prof. Han-Xiong Li

The talks will take place at Nile University Campus on Monday, December 11, 2023, at 12:30 - 1:30 PM, in Samir Helmy Hall, Room - 127.

About the Speakers:
  • Prof. Guanrong Chen (Ron) is Shun Hing Education and Charity Fund Chair Professor of Engineering at City University of Hong Kong. He is an IEEE Life-fellow, a member of the Academy of Europe, and a Fellow of The World Academy of Sciences. Prof. Chen's main research is in the Engineering focus area, nonlinear systems control and dynamics, as well as complex networks. He has 1600+ indexed publications, 92,700+ non-self citations with H-Index 141 according to Scopus, and is a highly cited researcher in Engineering and Mathematics according to Clarivate Web of Science. He is also the co-author of 31 technical and edited books. He is an Honorary Professor, Advisory Professor, and Guest-Chair Professor of about 30 universities worldwide.

 

  • Prof. Han-Xiong LI is a Chair Professor in the Department of Systems Engineering at the City University of Hong Kong, an IEEE Fellow, and was listed among the top 2% of most highly cited scientists in the world by Stanford University in 2021 and 2022. His current research interests are in intelligent manufacturing, including process modeling and control, intelligent learning, distributed parameter systems, and battery management system. He has more than 390 indexed publications, 12,900+ citations, and H-Index: 63, according to Scopus.
