International Affairs Manager
Job Summary
The International Affairs Manager will support the Executive Director for International Affairs with the university’s international relations strategy, support in management of global partnerships, and coordinate programs for student and faculty mobility. This role involves promoting international collaborations and ensuring compliance with university policies. The manager will also work to enhance the university’s global presence and support the internationalization of academic initiatives in coordination with line manager and the rest of the team.
Job Duties and responsibilities
Management:
- Support in the development and implementation of the international relations strategic plan in alignment with the university’s mission and goals. (This will include a study of the current situation and preparation of a baseline on which the strategy will build upon.)
- In coordination with the Executive Director for International Affairs, support in establishing and implementing the International Relations Office, including budgeting, staffing, and responsibility allocation.
- Work with a team of professionals dedicated to international programs and partnerships.
Partnership Development (Support for Internationalization and Partnerships)
- Support in identifying and establishing potential international partners such as universities, government bodies, research institutions, non-profit organizations, and corporations.
- Support in the development and negotiation agreements, MOUs, and the like to formalize partnerships in coordination with Line Manager (LM).
- Work with LM to maintain and strengthen ongoing relationships with international partners and stakeholders.
- In coordination with LM and team, organize conferences, visits, and events to foster international dialogue and visibility.
Project and Program Coordination (Student and Faculty Mobility and Activities)
In coordination with the Executive Director for International Affairs and in accordance with international strategy, work to:
- Promote and coordinate student and faculty exchange programs, study abroad opportunities, collaborative research initiatives, and international internships for students. (This could also include summer schools.)
- Attract, recruit, and support incoming international students and faculty, assisting with orientation, cultural adjustment, and academic integration.
- Develop new academic programs and initiatives to attract international students and enhance the university's global engagement. (In cooperation with the Provost and Deans.)
- Collaborate with academic programs to integrate international perspectives into curricula and research, providing support in aligning with international standards and best practices. (In cooperation with the Provost and Vice President for Research.)
- Organize international events, seminars, and conferences on campus, and facilitate faculty and staff involvement in international conferences, workshops, and collaborative projects. (In cooperation with Vice President for Research).
Research, Policy Development, and Reporting
In coordination with the Executive Director for International Affairs and in accordance with international strategy, work to:
- Conduct research on international trends and best practices that align with NU's mission.
- Provide insights and recommendations to leadership on policies affecting international cooperation and draft policies and guidelines to promote international engagement and collaboration.
- Develop and maintain a database of international activities of the University, gather data, and measure impact and outcomes.
- Monitor, maintain, and prepare regular reports on international partnerships, project results, and opportunities for improvement.
- Disseminate the outcome of activities of international affairs to the university community and relevant stakeholders.
Representation, Communication, and Networking
- Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, and external partners.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any relevant.
- Proficiency of English language both written and spoken
- Proficiency of Arabic language both written and spoken
- proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience in similar administrative roles is a plus.
