Biography

Assoc. Prof. Waleed Adel is an Associate Professor of Applied Mathematics at Nile University, Egypt, and is affiliated with the Nanoelectronics Integrated Systems Center (NISC), Nile University. He is also affiliated with the Department of Mathematics and Engineering Physics, Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University. He received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Engineering Mathematics from Mansoura University in 2014, and 2019, respectively. He has published more than +130 research articles in peer-reviewed international journals, with research contributions spanning applied mathematics, fractional-order differential equations, nonlinear dynamical systems, mathematical biology, epidemic modelling, numerical analysis, spectral and collocation methods, optimal control, reaction–diffusion systems, and AI-assisted computational modelling. His research focuses on developing rigorous mathematical and computational frameworks for complex real-world systems, particularly in infectious disease dynamics, chronic disease progression, climate–health modelling, and secure chaotic communication.  He has been recognized among the Top 2% Highly Cited Researchers for 2023 and 2024. He has also received reviewing recognitions including the Springer Nature Distinguished Reviewer Award in 2023 and the IOP Publishing Trusted Reviewer Award in 2024. He has reviewed more than 270 ISI-indexed journals and has served in editorial and guest editorial roles for international journals in Springer, Nature and an author of 2 international books on springer. He is actively involved in international research collaboration and proposal development. He has participated in funded and collaborative research activities including AUF and Erasmus Mundus projects, as well as STDF-related research proposals in hybrid chaotic LiDAR-secure communication systems, microwave sensing, and applied mathematical modelling. He is also engaged in EU Horizon-related initiatives and multi-partner collaborations involving institutions from Egypt, Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.
