Join the UniGreen Climate Change Competition for a shot at winning incredible financial and technical support, including total cash and in-kind amounting to more than 2 million EGP. This total value will be distributed among 5 winners, providing them with a combination of support and valuable services, such as financial support, technical mentorship, and other essential resources to fuel their success.

The UniGreen Climate Change competition, which is funded by the European Union, is led by Life Makers Foundation and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in collaboration with Samsung, Nile University and governmental partnerships and facilitated by Nilepreneurs.

The competition aims at changing the climate narrative and taking its participants into an eco-adventure. UniGreen is not just a project; it's a movement to empower Egyptian youth to unleash their creativity and tackle climate change like never before.

UniGreen empowers Egyptian youth to address climate change challenges. The project fosters collaboration among universities, the private sector, community organizations, and the government. UniGreen supports youth-led entrepreneurial solutions with technical and financial aid, aiming to enlarge their role in climate change mitigation. Through policy advocacy and community-based learning, interested youth contribute recommendations. 

 

Competition Focus:

The topics that the completion is seeking climate change interventions in:​

  • Greenhouse Gas Emission Mitigation
  • Biodynamic Agriculture​
  • Waste Management and Recycling​
  • Small-Scale Renewable Energy​
  • Halting Desertification​

Application Criteria:

  • A team of 2-4 eco-warriors aged 21-35, residents of Egypt.
  • Bring your solid ideas, technical proficiency, and a 3-min video showing us how you'll change the climate game.

Financial and Technical Support:

A pool of financial and in-kind support totaling 2 million EGP will be granted.

This total value will be distributed among 5 winners, providing them with a combination of support and valuable services, such as financial support, technical mentorship, and other essential resources to expand their success.

 

Dates and deadlines:

  • The deadline for submissions is midnight on January 13th.
  • Finalists announcement will be on Feb 1st.
  • A 5-day offline boot camp will be conducted in the 2nd week of February.
  • The final ceremony will be held in early March.
